Blanket Drive Sets Record!

Thanks to the generosity of friends from throughout the St. Louis area, winter was a little warmer for some of the area’s most needy residents.

The fourth annual “BLANKET ST. LOUIS” Blanket Drive coordinated by EnergyCare collected 1,237 blankets that were distributed to the less fortunate. Organizers had set a goal of 850 new and gently used blankets for the drive.

Students at Hazelwood Central High School and Incarnate Word Academy led the way this year for the blanket drive. Each school donated more than 220 blankets. Employees at St. Anthony Medical Center donated 200 blankets to the drive. First Bank located in Hazelwood donated 115 new electric blankets.

Other groups taking part in collecting blankets were: Central Reform Congregation, Our Lady of Providence Church, Mary Mother of the Church, St. Vincent de Paul Society at St. Martin de Porres Church, Eliot Chapel, St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, Webster Groves Presbyterian Church, St. Norbert Church, Central Catholic St. Nicholas School, Olin School of Business at Washington University and Stitches for Life.

Thank you to everyone who helped to make this our most successful blanket drive ever!.
