"It's Your Turn...Make It Happen!" was the theme of the Senior Theatre League of America's Festival and Conference held at St. Louis' Millennium Hotel October 4-7, 2006. Etc. Senior Theatre, hosted over 250 representatives from among the 600 senior theatre companies in the United States alone.

The Campbell House Troupe focuses mainly on Living History Productions--as seen in The Campbells of St. Louis on November 26, 2005 and Blue, Gray and Grand on May 13 and June 10, 2006 However, this conference and festival celebrated the six genres currently consistent with the burgeoning grassroots movement: Musical, Living History, Improvisational, Life Writing, Readers, and Social/Political Theatre. Of particular note is that this forum marked the return of the original senior theatre organization--Senior Theatre USA. Founded in the early 1990šs it was later courted by EdTA, the Educational Theatre Association, and formed an association with this organization, more comfortably known to high school and college students as The Thespian Society. As of October 8th, both organizations mutually agreed to separate with EdTA concentrating on its high school constituents and Senior Theatre USA concentrating on festivals for seniors without the complications of memberships, dues and printed communications.

Committed to lifelong learning, Senior Theatre USA will continue to pioneer creative aging and the resulting contribution to a society that might also benefit from an elderšs viewpoint and for elders who might easily escape that viewpoint through theatre.
