Alderman Tom Bauer:

Q: How is the Drury Hotel situation?
A: The final vote will be Mon. & Tuesday. Part of the project is building 10 houses in 36 mos. in this area or they will lose tax abatement.

Q: How are they going to get 10 lots?
A: That’s Drury’s problem. He can’t tear down. He’s going to have to net out lots. He’s getting a 10-yr full tax abatement currently.

Q: Where is “Dogtown Walk?” (a new street that’s being developed) Why are we having a private street?
A: It’s off Waldemar between Forest and McCausland. It’s four lots with the street down the middle of the lots out to the alley. Each of the four buildings has three single-family units. There won’t be a gate, but there will be a sign saying “no parking, private street.”

Q: What is the status of the house at Childress and Nashville, which is thought to be the most historic house in Dogtown because it’s from the Utah Pavilion of the World’s Fair? I heard it’s going to be a computer repair shop.
A: No business can be in a home unless it has no impact on community.

Q: What about the status of the apartments in the Lehman Hardware location?
A: Nothing’s happened—it’s still in the talking stage.

Meeting adjourned.
