Over half of the eleven buildings were completed and occupied in 2001. Remaining buildings will be completed early in 2002. Upon completion this project will generate over four million dollars worth of investment in Tower Grove East and Fox Park.

  • CDC Grant: Awarded a $40,000 Community Development Corporation Grant from the Department of Economic Development. Grant will be used to fund improvements at the vacant Taco Bell at the corner of Russell and S. Jefferson. DeSales hopes to lease space to a neighborhood-friendly business.

  • 3530 Juniata: Purchased 3530 Juniata for inclusion in DeSales Compton Hill Apartments 2002 Low Income Housing Tax Credit application. This six-family will be converted into four garden apartments.

  • Hired Office Administrator: Hired Alana Butler for the newly created position of Office Administrator. Alana's duties include fundraising, marketing, and federal grant administration.

  • NHS/TGE Plan: In collaboration with Neighborhood Housing Services and the Tower Grove East Neighborhood Association, DeSales is developing a strategic plan for a 10-block area south of Arsenal. Implementation of the plan will begin in early 2002.
