The Friends of Scott Joplin is a not-for-profit organization founded
in 1989 to promote, preserve, and educate our community about the music
of not only Scott Joplin but that of other Ragtime composers as well.
We have sponsored concerts, we publish our newsletter, the Euphony Review,
and provide support to the Scott Joplin House State Historic Site in
St. Louis. Our group is made of both performers as well as ragtime
lovers.
As president of this organization, it is has been my pleasure to promote
it all over the country in my ragtime travels. Ragtime is fun, and
we do our best to keep it that way in and around Saint Louis. As we are
home
to not only the legendary Saint Louis Ragtimers, but many other nationally
know ragtime performers, we consider ourselves very fortunate. Our monthly
meetings are in an open piano format and players of all ages regularly
perform. If you are ever in St. Louis on the first Sunday of the month,
come to Dressel's Cafe, have a meal and get your Ragtime fix. More information
about our events can
be
found
in our Events section of the website. When in St. Louis, visit the Scott
Joplin House. Support Ragtime. It is America's only original art form.
Explore our site, enjoy, and e-mail us question if you have one. Just
Keep on Raggin'.
