FROM: Housing Comes First
The first step to finding affordable housing is to get on the waiting list for Public
Housing and Individual Section 8 from the City Housing Authority and/or the County Housing
Authority. The City Housing Authority is located at 4100 Lindell in St. Louis City;
the telephone number is 531-4770. The County Housing Authority is located at 865
Natural Bridge Road in St. Louis County; the telephone number is 428-3200. By applying to
both waiting lists, your chances of finding housing are increased.
The following list is Project-Based Section 8. Each building keeps its own waiting
list. Some buildings accept vouchers, but most certify directly at their buildings. Call
each building to find out about getting on their waiting lists. The following list is not
part of either the City or County Housing Authority's list for Public Housing or Section
8.
In addition, a list of Home Ownership Agencies is included at the end of this list.
