Services available at Technology Access Center
Network - Information and Referral
Provide current information about assistive products and resource services, disability-related issues and others. Through our resources, we offer solution to disability questions with other centers and vendors across the nation.
Funding
Direct those in need to the financial resources necessary to buy assistive technology devices and services.
Community Education
Present information on the uses of assistive technology to groups at schools, universities, community centers, civic meetings or to any organization which there are people with disabilities.
Evaluation and Training
Provide evaluations, training and help people with disabilities, service professionals, families, business and others to explore assistive technology in the areas of education, recreation, vocation and home environments. Services may include, depending on the individual's needs:
- Computer Access and Software
- Work Accommodations
- Environmental Controls
- Activities of Daily Living
- On-site Accessibility Survey
TAC can go into the consumer's home, school or workplace to conduct an evaluation process and assist in the selection of technology to meet individual needs.
TAC is a vendor of the following organizations:
- MO. Division of Vocational Rehabilitation
- MO. Rehabilition Services for the Blind
- St. Louis Department of Mental Health
- St. Louis Public Schools - Office of Special Education
Summer Computer Technology Camp
Provide a Computer Camp mainly for older children and young adults from ages 13 to 21 to achieve their educational and vocational potential.
