Entries in this division should be mounted on a rigid surface such as matt board or illustration board. Each display cannot exceed 11" x 14". This is the finished size of the display board. Negatives are to be mounted to the back of the display board for viewing by the judges. It must be indicated what operations were accomplished by the student and which were borrowed, purchased, or accomplished commercially. Displays must be student generated. All Groups are eligible to participate.
PH-1 PHOTOGRAPHY BLACK & WHITE OR COLOR: This classification
is for traditional film black & white or color photographic projects. Photographs
are to be mounted on a any color matt board or illustration board. Photographs
are not to be altered (print or negative). Display size of entry cannot exceed
11" x 14". Examples: landscapes, building, animals, or person. Negatives
are required with entry.
PH-2 DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY This classification is for any digital
photography project, black and white or color, that uses a digitally produced
image obtain using a digital camera. Prints are to be mounted on a any color
matt board or illustration board. Images must be on disk. Display size of entry
cannot exceed 11" x 14". Examples: landscapes, building, animals,
or person.
PH-3 EXPERIMENTAL PHOTOGRAPHY OR COMPUTER ALTERED / DIGITAL IMAGING
The Experimental Photography classification is for any photography project,
black and white or color, that uses an experimental or alternative photography
process such as, but not limited to, the Sabattier effect, screens, paper negatives,
toners, hand coloring, collages, multiple exposures, spray/brush development,
cross-developing, graphic arts manipulative, etc. Photographs are to be mounted
on any suitable matt board or illustration board. Examples: landscapes, building,
animals, or person. NEGATIVES are required with entry. Or Computer Altered /
Digital Imaging Photography for any photography project, black and white or
color, that uses a digitally produced image either by extraction from digital
camera, video, still or taken from images already produced (i.e. scanned image,
stock image from website or CD, etc.) Images must be either on disk and viewable
by entrant supplied computer or may be printed on photo quality paper. A description
of the steps and modifications taken from original to final print must also
be included. Prints are to be mounted on any suitable matt board or illustration
board. Display size of entry cannot exceed 11" x 14". Computer viewable
images should be easily viewed by scrolling of the mouse.
