COMMUNITY SERVICES
- Assists families in resolving conflicts
- Provides counseling services to youth and their families
- Provides referral services and linkage to community resources
- Provides case management services and networks with community support systems
- Provides school-based services
- Provides skills groups
- Provides community education
24 - HELPLINE
- Provides confidential and anonymous 24 - hour phone line access every day of the year
- Provides crisis intevention
- Allows you to talk with someone when you want help with any problem
- Listens to callers without judgement
- Helps answer questions regarding many issues
- Provides referral and information services for any caller
EMERGENCY SHELTER
- Provides a safe place to stay for youth ages 12 through 17, on a short term basis
- Provides residents with a Youth Counselor -- a peer who will talk with you
- Provides parents and other family members an adult Peer Counselor
- Offers staff who will work with you on whatever problems you may be having and help you set goals for the future
- Provides individual, group and family counseling services by YES staff
- Provides access to educational services and recreational activities
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
- Provides opportunities for anyone age 14 and older to volunteer as a Peer Counselor
- Peer Counselors:
- receive training
- work with youth and their families
- assist shelter staff in a variety of responsibilities
- have other opportunities for involvement at YES
- Encourages and supports peer helper groups being developed at various schools
- Provides other opportunities for involvement at YES
FUNDRAISING
- Donations are accepted at any time and are tax deductible
- Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP) credits are available
- Participate in our annual Golf-a-Thon each summer!
