Botanical Heights Operation Brightside Project Blitz - Saturday, April 19th 2008

Operation Brightside - Help make it a Success!

  • Operation Brightside Project Blitz clean up for 2008 was a success. We met at Amelia Park and broke out to service the four quadrants of the neighborhood. The rain prevented a BBQ, but I want to send thanks out to all who showed up to support us in the event including Mayor Francis Slay.
  • As you may have noticed, we have established several new gardens in the neighborhood. These gardens will need conditioning and bulbs/flowers will need planting later in May. Consider joining the neighborhood's beautification committee to tend to these gardens throughout the summer and fall as well.

  • All "Yard Waste Only" and trash receptacles will be emptied on your Blitz Saturday.
  • Large appliances, tires, car batteries, and motor oil will also be collected but separately from other bulk items. These items will be recycled.
  • Please submit any special needs requests not addressed below to Brightside Captain - Joe Worth at worthj@sbcglobal.net
  • All debris must be bagged and put into trash receptacles. Loose debris will NOT be picked up.
  • Trash collection will begin at 10:00 a.m. Please have all items out by this time.
  • Branches more than 2 inches in diameter and no longer than 3 feet must be bundled and placed with bulk items for collection.
  • Please follow these instructions for placement of items.

****If you have dumpsters in your alley****

  • Place all small items in trash dumpster. Be careful NOT to overload.
  • Your regular bulk pick-up site is directly behind your home at the edge of the alley.
  • This is where you place large items so the bulk items do not block any streets, alleys, or sidewalks.
  • Items placed on private property will not be picked up.
  • Yard Waste: Place grass, leaves, and twigs in "Yard Waste Only" dumpsters
