Mary and Joseph Parish of Carondelet
6304 Minnesota Avenue
St. Louis, MO 63111
(314) 481-6304
When Clement Delor
de Treget founded the village of Carondelet in 1767 a plot of land was set aside
for Church purposes. It was the hilltop at present day Holly Hills and Minnesota.
A log chapel was built in 1818 and it was followed by larger churches in 1835
and 1859. The present Church was dedicated in 1941. The
Parish is rich in history and looks forward to the future. The parish was known
as "Our Lady of Mount Carmel and St. Joseph of the Angels." In 1841
it was changed to simply "Sts. Mary and Joseph." As Mary and joseph
nourished and protected the Christ Child, the misson of the parish todayis to
imitate the child "who grew in wisdom and knowledge and grace before God
and Man." Come grow with us. E-mail address: FJR132@WEBTV.NET
