Our Beautiful Neighborhood
Carr Square Village was built in 1942 to house low-income blacks. The boundaries were 15th Street (East), 18th Street (West), O'Fallon (North) and Cole Street (South). A transient setting designed to rob one of a sense of identity? a sense of belonging? On the contrary, we had and have today an identity. We belong - to each other!!!
