It is the policy of the City of St. Louis Community Information Network that information and services on the CIN site are designed to be accessible to people with disabilities. We strive for our web pages to serve the largest possible audience including users with text-based browsers, low-end processors, slow modem connections and/or no multi-media capabilities on their computer.
Due to its decentralized approach, however, it is possible that some section on the website may not be in full compliance with our general guidelines. In the coming year we are committed to making all of our Internet documents accessible to everyone. The St. Louis CIN seeks to bring these sites into basic compliance with Section 508 code and therefore is committed to becoming and remaining compliant with the requirements of Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act as amended by the Workforce Investment Act of 1998.
As part of our re-design efforts, we will follow the W3C Web Accessibility Initiative in particular we will strive to design our website using cascading style sheet positioning standard (CSS-P) to develop pages without layout tables to make content accessible to multple devices including assistive technology and handhelds.
