The City of St. Louis, Department of Public Safety, Division of Air Pollution Control maintains a network of air pollution monitoring stations. These stations monitor Sulfur Dioxide (SO₂), Nitrogen Dioxide (NO₂), Ozone (O₃), Carbon Monoxide (CO), and Inhalable Particulate matter (PM₁₀ & PM_2.5). The stations are linked to a centralized computer system located in the Division's Technical Services Section and the information is polled on a regular basis by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, Air Pollution Section.
