Enforcement Functions

This Section of the Air Pollution Control Division is responsible for assuring compliance with the myriad of City, State, and Federal regulations enacted for the control of air pollutants.

When violations occur, it is our responsibility to regain compliance from the violator through the enforcement tools made available by City Ordinance, or delegated by State Rules, which we are authorized to enforce. The options available range from:

• Notice of Excess Emissions
• Notice of Violation
• Filing of cases in City or State Courts
• Fines. (Can range up to $500 per day in City and up to $10,000 per day in State courts)
