Lead Occupation Licensing on CDA Housing & Home Repair Projects

There are presently three separate categories requiring licensing for those performing work in housing, where evaluation and, if needed, control of lead paint applies: Lead Inspector, Lead Abatement Worker, and Lead Abatement Supervisor. All of these categories refer to tasks performed only at work sites where such evaluation and control, if needed, applies. [In the state of Missouri, there is presently no licensing requirement for a person performing a risk assessment (see example 2c below).]

Licensing requirement applies to, and only to, individual(s) actually performing those respective tasks on such work sites. If a contractor hires others to perform these tasks, he/she does not need any such licensing. If the contractor employs others to perform these tasks, those employees performing these tasks would need to be licensed in those respective tasks on work sites where they apply.
