Welcome! The purpose of this website is twofold: to make the environmental review process more publicly accessible and to provide information for better city project planning. Highlands (Old Arena Site) Project--click on image for details!!

This web site, maintained by the the City's Planning & Urban Design Agency, is intended to make accessible to the public geographically-sorted environmental information obtained from public agencies and historic documents. This site also provides a geographic listing of all Agency projects reviewed and postings of applicable public notices and public hearing periods.

This web site explains the environmental review process here at the Development Agencies of the City of St. Louis, references used, the impact categories that projects are reviewed for, and the the contents of the environmental review record maintained. The site also provides related links to HUD, EPA, MDNR, and U.S. Dept. of Interior. Darst- Webbe Redevelopement Project--Click on image for details!!

For users not interested in the details of our review process, the left sidebar on the main page is designed to take one directly to city-specific environmental information. This information identifies, among other things, property parcels classified as sensitive by EPA and MDNR, property parcels potentially sensitive based upon their historic usage, those in a flood plains, those considered wetlands, those sitting over caves/caverns/sinkholes of significant size, those sitting over abandoned (clay/coal) mines, and those archeologically sensitive. This information includes parcels already environmentally reviewed by PDA, and parcels, beginning in 1999, having residential properties in which lead paint evaluation and control was performed as part of the City's Development Agencies projects and grants,

Where applicable, this site links to other City departments, such as CEMA, the Division of Air Pollution Control, and the Dept. of Health’s Lead Paint Abatement & Prevention Program.

An ongoing list of contributors to this site, inside and outside of City government, is maintained. A note of thanks to these individuals for their assistance in getting this site going and helping advance it.
