JOB OPPORTUNITY OFFICIAL JOB POSTINGJune 20, 2006 The Board of Election Commissioners for the City of St. Louis is accepting applications and resumes for the position of Policy Supervisor. Interested parties may submit applications and resumes to the Election Board, 300 North Tucker Boulevard, St. Louis, MO 63101, Attention: Republican Director of Elections, until 5:00 P.M. on June 28, 2006. JOB TITLE: Policy Supervisor. REPORTS TO: Deputy Democratic Director, Asst. Deputy Republican Director. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: College graduate preferred, but will consider a high school graduate with an equivalent combination of college courses, work experience and extensive experience and training in the use of a personal computer and various software systems, including but not limited to Microsoft Windows Applications, and other office equipment that provides the required level of knowledge, skills and abilities. A professional demeanor and appearance; superior writing ability in both technical and prose forms; ability to read and interpret documents and understand and follow instructions in verbal and written form; attention to detail; the ability to work under pressure; the ability to work well with others; and a bi-partisan spirit are additional requirements. RESPONSIBILITIES: Under general supervision, is responsible for, oversees and performs all functions associated with elections, including ballot tabulation, creation, and publication as required by all local and state ordinances and laws, as well as election certification. The policy supervisor will be responsible for mastering the GEMS hardware server and all voting equipment, training new employees on utilizing the server and equipment, and supervising the server and the results contained therein during all elections. In addition, the policy supervisor will be responsible for the drafting, updating and retention of all Board manuals, including but not limited to troubleshooting, personnel, equipment, judge training, and election manuals. The policy supervisor will be the official archivist of the office. The policy supervisor will take an active role in working with the directors, law enforcement officials, and circuit attorney’s office in investigating any incidents or suspicions of voter or recall fraud.
