All non-permanent or transient businesses must meet the criteria of a Vehicle, Sidewalk, Itinerant or Festival Vendor. If your business DOES NOT fall within this criteria your business is prohibited.
Requirements are as follows:
This vendor must remain on SIDEWALK OR PUBLIC RIGHT AWAY in a vending area deemed by the ordinance numbers ( 65061, 65347, 66860)
All vendors in “Downtown Vending District” will also be required to obtain a permit from the City of St. Louis Street
Department ( 314-647-3111 ) or City of St. Louis Parks Department ( 314-289-5310 )
All vendors in “South Downtown Project Area” will also be required to obtain a permit from the “South Downtown
Project Area Co-ordinator”
All vendors in “Wharf Vending District” will also be required to obtain a permit from the City of St. Louis
Comptroller ( 314-622-3588 )
All vendors in “City Park Vending District” will also be required obtain a permit from the or City of St. Louis Parks
Department ( 314-289-5310 )
**YOU WILL NEED TO REGISTER WITH THE LICENSE COLLECTORS OFFICE BEFORE YOU CAN APPLY FOR YOUR HEALTH PERMIT.**

$200.00 per calendar year payment must be in cash, money order or cashiers check, unless an establishedbusiness in the City of St. Louis.
Before visiting City Hall to acquire your Sidewalk Vendor License you must:

On the day you visit the License Collector's Office to complete your application for a Street Vendor License you will need to:

Apply and pay for a Sidewalk Vendor License. Your license will be issued after all the necessary requirements are met.

A passport photo is required in order for us to issue your sidewalk vendor badge.
5. Health Permit (if selling food)
**The health dept will require a copy of your paid receipt for a Sidewalk Vendor License, before a health application can be taken.**
Cost: Thirty-five ($35.00), must be paid in business check or money order.

Insurance in the amount of $25,000 / $50,000 bodily injury coverage and property damage in the amount of $10,000 with an insurance company of good standing on each vehicle used in the operation of the vending business.
After receiving all of the above required permits, you will need to return to the License Collectors’ Office for your license to be issued.
Additional Information:
A separate Vendor License is required for each business, stand or location.
