Dependent Child Coverage To Age 25

Missouri Governor Matt Blunt signed Missouri House Bill No. 818 into law in 2007. One of the requirements on the law applies to dependent children coverage.

Effective June 22, 2008, medical and dental coverage on dependent children can be continued up to age 25, regardless of student status. To be eligible under the new law, the child must be unmarried, reside in Missouri, and not be covered under another plan.

Employees wishing to add dependent children as a result of the law must do so during open enrollment unless currently enrolled.
