23rd Annual Project “Heat’s On”

The Mechanical Contractors Association of Eastern Missouri, Inc., and Plumbers and Pipefitters Local Union No. 562 provided heating system inspections to hundreds of needy homeowners in the St. Louis area on Oct. 10 for the 23rd Annual Project “Heat’s On.”

The two organizations donated their time, resources and materials valued at approximately $100 per home during this year’s project. The 34-point inspection included checking water heaters and furnaces. Crescent Parts donated filters and Home Services provided batteries to be installed where needed.

“Our goal this year was to reach approximately 400 homes,” says Jon Danuser, President of the Mechanical Contractors Association of Eastern Missouri, Inc. “We are proud to be able to offer this service to our community,” added Business Manager Patrick Kellett of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local Union No. 562.

Eligible recipients of this inspection service were identified by Energy Care, Inc., Home Services, Inc., St. Louis Area Agency on Aging, St. Louis County Human Services and Saints Joachim & Ann Care Service.

“We continue to do this to help the community we live in,” explains Jon Danuser. “It’s great to be able to give our talents and resources to such a worthy cause,” remarked Patrick Kellett.

The City and County effort is under direction of the City of St. Louis Mayor Francis G. Slay and St. Louis County Executive Officer Charlie A. Dooley along with the City of St. Peters Mayor Len Pagano.

For more information about this program or to add a name for next year’s Project “Heat’s On,” contact the St. Louis Area Agency on Aging at 612-5918.
