Kiener Plaza Turns Blue!

Several Blue Ribbon events were held to mark April as Blue Ribbon Month including the conversion of the water in the fountain at Kiener Plaza bright blue.

April Blue Ribbon Month calls community attention to the continuing problem of child abuse and encourages the public to support efforts to strengthen families as the best way to prevent child abuse from developing.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of the first Presidential declaration of April as Child Abuse Prevention Month. Since 1989, the blue ribbon has been widely recognized as a national symbol of child abuse prevention.

Collectively, Blue Ribbon events inspire thousands of individuals, organizations and communities across the country to not only remember those who have died as a result of child abuse but also to promote public awareness around strengthening families to prevent abuse and neglect.
