Open Enrollment For Health Insurance

UnitedHealthcare will again be offered to employees and retirees this year. The open enrollment period for active employees will be held between May 5 and May 23.

UnitedHealthcare will again offer a High Option and a Low Option with out-of-network benefits. Employees do not have to complete an enrollment form if they are not making any changes. However, a change form must be completed if you are adding dependents, dropping dependents, transferring from High to Low Option or Low to High Option.

Meetings to explain the plans are scheduled at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 6 Tuesday, May 6

There will be no increase in premiums for the plan year 2008/2009. However, there is no guarantee this will remain the same for the next plan year.

Following are several changes that were made in order to retain this pricing:

- High Option – annual deductible will increase from $200 to $300 for individual and from $400 to $500 for family.
- Low Option - co-pay for routine office visits will increase from $15 to $20 and specialists visits from $20 to $40.
- Co-pay for Urgent Care will be $50 for both the High and Low Option.

All other benefits will remain the same.

St. Louis ConnectCare, located at 5535 Delmar Boulevard, is an approved Urgent Care Center. You may want to consider using an Urgent Care Center instead of the Emergency Room. The co-pay for the Emergency Room is $150 and the co-pay for the Urgent Care Center is $50.

All forms must be returned to the Department of Personnel, Employee Benefits, 1114 Market, Suite 900, no later than 5 p.m., Friday, May 23. Coverage is effective June 22, and the first payroll deduction will begin July 11. Following are the bi-weekly premiums for High Option, Low Option
