Dolores Stachowski Retires
Dolores Stachowski was the master of the NCR machine. Using only
one finger to key in data, she could still fly through trays
of work. She took great pride in her organization of the file
room. Dolores was the only person who knew exactly where everything
belonged.
“I knew that when Dolores retired we would have to hire two people
to replace her,” said her longtime co-worker Jackie Whittier.
Dolores did make the decision to retire, and on September 29 she
was surrounded by her family and co-workers to celebrate her 21
years of service to the Collector of Revenue’s office. Three of
Dolores’ five children were able to join in a delicious luncheon
hosted by her department and a ceremony given by Collector of Revenue
Gregory F.X. Daly.
Dolores began her career in the Lateral Sewer Line Department when
it existed. After a year there, she transferred to Data Processing
and remained there for 20 years.
“I knew I could depend on Dolores,” Daly noted in his speech. “We
have been very fortunate to have her. She leaves us with a lot
of good memories and an extremely organized file room!”
“Dolores is the type of person everyone would like to have as a
fiend,” noted Mary Jenkerson, one of Dolores’ closest friends and
co-workers. “She is a true friend. It is hard to see her retire.
We will miss her here at work.”
Dolores plans to have an active retirement with her family and
plenty of time spent on our local gambling boats! We wish her a
long, happy, and healthy retirement! Congratulations, Dolores!
