Service Awards Ceremony Set for May 15
All employees are invited to attend the annual Mayor’s Service Awards
Ceremony, which is set for 3 p.m. Thursday, May 15 in the City Hall
Rotunda, 1200 Market Street.
More than 40 Civil Service employees were nominated for personal
recognition by Mayor Francis G. Slay for their accomplishments and
dedication. The selection process was not an easy one, as many deserving
nominations were reviewed by the Mayor’s Service Awards Committee.
The awardees can be very proud of this recognition.
The categories this year are: Sustained Superior Performance, Monetary
Savings, Improved Level of Service, Departmental Image, Event-Centered
Act of Distinction, Customer Service, Safety and Employee of the
Year. The recipients of this year’s awards have been notified by
mail.

Open Enrollment
For Health Insurance
UnitedHealthcare will again be offered to employees and retirees
this year. The open enrollment period for active employees will
be held between May 5 and May 23.
UnitedHealthcare will again offer a High Option and a Low Option
with out-of-network benefits. Employees do not have to complete
an enrollment form if they are not making any changes. However,
a change form must be completed if you are adding dependents,
dropping dependents, transferring from High to Low Option or Low
to High Option.
Meetings to explain the plans are scheduled at 10:30 a.m. and
1:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 6 Tuesday, May 6.

Pet Oxygen Masks Donated

Jeff

oxygen masks to the St. Louis Fire Department.
Jensen and Brazelton, co-owners of Four Muddy Paws, a pet store
and self-service dog washing service in Lafayette Square, donated
the masks, enough for each frontline fire apparatus. Each set contains
three masks that are designed for large or small dogs, cats and
ferrets.

Weight Loss Challenge - Winners and Award Ceremony
Congratulations to everyone who participated in the 2nd Annual
Weight Loss Challenge! This year, there were 125 teams, totaling
542 participants. A total of 2,010 pounds was lost during the
10-week challenge. All participants received a Bee Fit T-shirt.
The following individuals and teams were awarded prizes at the
Awards Ceremony held in City Hall on Wednesday, April 16.
