CITY TV 10 Producers Move To The Big Screen

Two CITY TV 10 video producers have moved from the TV screen to the movie screen.

Zlatko Cosic, a part time video producer for the Communication Division, had two films shown in this year’s St. Louis Filmmakers Showcase. He was the producer, together with Paul Guzzardo, and editor of “buildbetterbarrel: nine events in new media” and the producer, director and editor of “The Capsule”, an experimental documentary.

Anthony Mueller, CITY TV 10 Video Production Specialist, was an assistant editor on “Ghost Image,” a psychological thriller featuring Hollywood talent that was shot in St. Louis.

Cosic’s “buildbetterbarrel: nine events in new media” is a series of short vignettes that trace the media heritage and folklore of St. Louis. Backdrops include Cahokia Mounds, the Chicago lakefront, the Pulitzer Foundation for the Arts, and a street front media lab that operated on September 11, 2001.

It remembers St. Louis’s Marshall McLuhan and Father Walter Ong. And it considers why McLuhan and Ong were the first “to hear” how electronic media would turn streets into stages for storytellers and myth builders. The documentary is also an epilogue to another story, another myth - one about Josephine Baker, Walter Winchell and J. Edgar Hoover.

“The Capsule” is a two minute visual documentary about an unusual medical treatment.

Both of his movies were shown July 24 at the Tivoli Theatre.

Cosic has worked part time for CITY TV 10 since 2002. He owns his own production company and also designs and puts Newsgram online.

Zlatko Cosic has had a busy summer. Read more about his artistic talents and upcoming multimedia projects at www.eyeproduction.com.

Anthony Mueller worked on “Ghost Image” in post-production as the assistant editor, the visual effects supervisor and a compositor.

“The assistant editor helps the real editor by doing a large part of the grunt work, such as digitizing footage, organizing the project, syncing audio to film, and anything else that allows the editor to concentrate on the creative editing rather than the busy work. Visual effects are effects that are done in post production (special effects are done on set or in camera)... this leads me to compositing, which is basically combining two or more layers of film to make one image. I also did the credits,” Mueller said.

He met the director, Jack Snyder about five years ago, when he cleaned up some footage that he shot with a dirty lens.

Mueller has worked for CITY TV 10 as a Video Production Specialist for almost 4 years and have been full time since November 2005. He was an intern in 2001.
