America Recycles Day Expo

There are businesses and organizations that have chosen to locate within and/or operate in the City of St. Louis. To express our appreciation, we work to promote what they do and what they have to offer.

On Thursday, Nov. 15, we will be hosting our Third Annual America Recycles Day Expo in the elegant Rotunda of our grand, old City Hall.

Part of the Recycling Program's mission is to educate City residents and employees about reducing waste, reusing materials, and recycling our precious natural resources. And, there are environmental events that are helpful on that front. However, in a busy, busy world - quite full of news about a wide assortment of air, soil, and water issues - details specifically about developments and efforts to reduce, reuse, and recycle (RRR) sometimes get lost in the shuffle.

The purpose of our America Recycles Day Expo is to help connect local businesses and organizations that provide RRR-related products and services with City officials and employees (especially those with procurement responsibilities), City residents, and other City businesses.

So, whether in your capacity as a City Government employee, or as a resident, on Thursday, November 15th, please join us and check out the wide variety of RRR options that are already available to you. Past exhibitors have included:
• companies that sell recycled-content office supplies
• recyclers of aluminum, glass, plastic, steel, paper, cardboard, textiles, plastic bags, electronics, and ceiling tiles
• retailers of reused and recycled products (e.g., building and construction, clothing, home décor, lawn and garden, personal care)

Last year, City employees who attended the America Recycles Day Expo and entered the raffle won recycled-content prizes, including an indoor/outdoor carpet, a fleece blanket, and clipboards. Other prizes that were available included an all-expenses-paid 7-night Alaskan Cruise for two (adults), a recycled aluminum content bicycle (under 18), and an artistically-rendered end table.
