SLAAA Receives Technology Upgrades
As part of an Excelerator Grant from AT&T
AccessAll, the Department of Human Service’s St. Louis Area Agency
on Aging (SLAAA) has received a new Automatic Call Distributor
(ACD) system for the information and assistance telephones. The
ACD system will distribute incoming calls evenly among the information
specialists, decreasing response times and increasing the agency’s
ability to serve clients.
In addition to the new ACD system, SLAAA utilizes
the National Aging Person Information System to track services
provided to seniors and persons with disabilities across Missouri.
This system allows callers to give their information once, instead
of having to repeat it multiple times. This system allows the
Aging Specialists to see which services clients have received
in the past in order to better refer the client to new services.
A final addition is the on-line database, www.MOAging.com.
This statewide database allows seniors, caregivers, and professionals
to search for resources in their area at any time, day or night.
