Comptroller Darlene GreenComptroller and Treasurer Announce ‘Christmas in July’ Parking Program

A collaboration between Comptroller Darlene Green and Treasurer Larry Williams hopes to bring relief to city employees on the Municipal Garage parking list.

The “Christmas in July” program introduced last month intends to meet employee parking needs right now, and at the same time, address employee budget concerns by offering reduced rates. The program is only being offered to employees on the Municipal Garage waiting list and not currently parking in the Kiel Garage.

If you meet the above qualifications and are interested in this program, please contact Val Williams at 622-5673 to get started or if you have any questions.

Mayor Francis G. SlayOffice Awareness Can Break the Cycle of Abuse at Home

According to the United States Department of Justice, one in four women will experience domestic violence during her lifetime. The effects of domestic violence are not confined to the home, but also impact our communities and businesses.

Each year, approximately 18,000 domestic violence related incidents of workplace violence occur in the United States. The victims are primarily women and the abusers are current or former boyfriends or husbands.

Many times the victim of abuse feels helpless and overwhelmed by the thought of reporting problems of domestic violence. Victims also fear reporting abuse because of threats of retaliation. complete story >>
