Cell Phone Lot Now Open

Lambert-St. Louis International Airport is encouraging all motorists picking up passengers to use the new Cell Phone Lot that opened during the holidays. A Cell Phone Lot is a free waiting zone for motorists who are just picking up passengers at Lambert. The lot is open from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. Motorists must remain with their vehicles at all times.

Temporary signs are in place to direct motorists to the Cell Phone Lot, which is one-half mile east of Cypress on Lambert International Boulevard. A second Cell Phone Lot near the East Terminal may be closed after the holidays. Maps and directions to the new Cell Phone Lot can be found at www.lambert-stlouis.com.

The Cell Phone Lot allows motorists to stay in close proximity to the Main and East Terminals until their arriving party is ready to be picked up. Passengers make contact with the motorists by phone; they should only do this after they have claimed their luggage. Motorists can then pull up to the arrivals curbs at either the Main or East Terminal. Drivers will no longer have to continually loop around the airport if passengers don’t arrive on time. Plus, the Cell Phone Lot will ease congestion along the arrivals curbs while helping motorists better comply with current security regulations.

A large airline flight display board has been installed at the Cell Phone Lot to help motorists determine the approximate time that flights will arrive. But, Cell Phone Lot users are urged to still wait for a phone call confirmation from the passenger that they are ready to be picked up before leaving for the arrivals and baggage claim areas.
