Mayor Francis G. Slay is encouraging more St. Louisans to file
income tax returns this year. Filing a return may allow traditional
non-filers – residents with very low incomes and senior citizens
– to participate in the federal Economic Stimulus Payment program.
The program will infuse about $152 billion into the U.S. economy
and $1.2 billion into the local economy.

To help residents prepare their filings and help determine if
they are qualified for the economic stimulus payment, Gateway
Earned Income Credit Community Coalition (GECC) will hold a Super
Saturday Information Day from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, March
29 at Five Star Senior Center, 2832 Arsenal and MET Center, 6347
Plymouth.
Both sites will help determine if residents qualify for the economic
stimulus payment and will help them fill out income tax forms.
Area residents who will not be available on March 29 should call
the United Way assistance line, 211, to obtain the names and locations
of other partnering agencies.
