Personal Property Tax Forms Due

The 2008 individual and business tangible personal property declaration forms for the City of St. Louis are due no later than April 1, 2008. Under state law, individuals and firms not filing by the April 1st deadline are subject to a mandatory 10% filing penalty.

Taxpayers who did not receive a form in the mail but own personal property are still required to fill out a declaration form. For further information, contact the Assessor’s Office at 314/622-4171 for individual accounts or 314/622-4181 for business accounts. Due to the high volume of calls expected at the end of March, it is suggested that taxpayers needing additional information contact the Assessor’s Office as soon as possible.

Declaration forms can be obtained and filled out in person at the Assessor’s Office in Room 115 at City Hall, 1200 Market Street, Monday through Friday between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. The forms can also be downloaded from the City’s web site at www.stlouis.missouri.org

Any mail postmarked on or before April 1, 2008 will be accepted as a timely filing.
