Departments of Health, Human Services Move Downtown

The Department of Health and the Department of Human Services are moving!

The Department of Health and the Department of Human Service will be moving June 1 to a newly renovated building located at 1520 Market Street.

This move will benefit both employees and customers as the new building will meet industry standards for a modern office configuration and improve energy efficiency. This will result in more efficient and effective program operations for both agencies.

The move will begin with the Department of Human Services moving first on June 1 and 2, and then the Department of Health (DOH) will begin moving on June 3. complete story >>

“Yes We Can!” Avoid Office Paper Waste

June marks the First Day of Summer. Warm temperatures, continuous sunshine, hot pavement. Is there a better time to appreciate the cool, soothing shade of our beautiful City’s many trees? Think of a St. Louis summer, and then imagine our City, or even Planet Earth, with no trees. If we don’t cut down trees, what would we do about copier paper, notepads, or envelopes? A typical office produces an estimated 1.5 pounds of waste paper per employee per workday (approximately 350 pounds per employee per year).[1] In 2008, City of St. Louis Government employees did a great job of recycling 268,856 pounds of waste paper. Let’s step up our pace: avoiding office paper waste can be as easy as reducing how much paper we use in the first place and reusing the paper that we do use. complete story >>
