STL TV, KPLR-CW11 Take JFL To Metro
Area
Grab
the coolers and the barbeques, it’s time for tailgating and some
action packed football again! Monday Night Football is back and
even better for players who can bake and shake like the NFL players
but are half their size.
STL TV, the City’s local government access channel,
is partnering with the St. Louis Junior Football League again
to produce and televise the “2009 JFL Monday Night Games.”
This year the JFL celebrates 50 years in the community and what
better way to celebrate than to display some of St. Louis’ finest
talents on STL TV and, for the first time, on KPLR-CW11. This is
a new partnership that STL TV has developed so the games can be
seen throughout the metro area.

Nestlé-Purina Provides ‘Extreme
Makeover’ for Animal Center
On a rainy Tuesday morning in the middle of June, the dogs and
cats at the Animal Care and Control Center on Gasconade were in
for a treat—and more than just a Milkbone.
Employees from Nestlé-Purina volunteered
their time and talents during Purina’s Annual PetCare Pride Day
Makeover Project. As the rain came down that morning, more than
40 volunteers poured out of a bus, ready to take on some of the
challenges of the old brick animal shelter.
The first order of business was to make the exterior of the building
more pleasant and inviting for the general public. The crew quickly
began hanging flower planters below the barred windows, giving them
a softer look. Others worked on spreading mulch and gravel, planting
bushes, and placing a large marquee sign at the entrance.
