Student Sports Day

Date: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, May 24
Location: Dwight Davis Tennis Courts, Probstein Golf Course and Langenberg Field
Event: Approximately 1,000 public school students will participate in the all day event. They will play golf, tennis, football and dance.

Dual Path

Date: May 24-28 Various parts of the Dual Path will be closed for final improvements over the course of the week.

Ferris Wheel

Date: May 26 – August 19
Operating Hours: Noon to 6 p.m. Monday – Thursday Noon to 9 p.m. Friday – Sunday
Location: Between the greenhouses and ballfields along Highway 64/40
Cost: $2 for adults; $1 for children 4-12; free for children 3 and under

Senior Citizens Fair

Date: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, May 28
Location: Muny Opera Pavilion
Event: The fair will include information booths sponsored by providers of services to seniors, health screenings, crafts and game booths and barbecue. There will be music all day—including jazz, blues, gospel, swing and line dancing. Seniors also will visit some of the attractions in Forest Park such as the Art Museum, History Museum, Science Center, Jewel Box or the Zoo.

WOW National Outdoor Recreation
And Conservation School

Date: 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. June 12
Event: Missouri Department of Natural Resources, PRF and others provide outdoor skill training for youngsters ages 9-17 and their parents.

Sand Volleyball at Steinberg Rink

Date: Starts June 14 and runs for 10 weeks
Event: Wednesdays: Co-ed Recreational (6 players)--Beginning and Intermediate; Thursdays: Men's Competitive and Women's Competitive (4 players); Fridays: Co-ed Recreational (6 players)--Beginning and Intermediate; weekend play and tournaments
Cost: $225 for co-ed teams; $200 for competitive teams.

Dwight Davis Tennis Center Open House

Event: The Tennis Center invites everyone who works in Forest Park to a special open house to tour the improvements to the facility.

Location: Art Hill/ Grand Basin Area No parking all day on Lagoon Drive from Fine Arts to Dwight Davis Tennis Center to accommodate fireworks display. No parking after 5 p.m. in both the East and West Circle drives and Art Museum parking lots

Dwight Davis Tennis Center To Open Gym

Dwight Davis Tennis Center is opening June 1 a new state-of-the-art gym in the lower level of the clubhouse. The Gym/Training Center will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. seven days a week through the end of October.

The Training Center was designed by Tom Nuzum, a certified strength and conditioning specialist. More than $50,000 in Life Fitness cardio and Nebula weight equipment, including treadmills, ellipticals, a bike, dumb bells and fixed motion equipment will be available for members to use.

Three personal trainers will also be available by appointment only.

The monthly cost is $25 but there are special passes: one day for $5 and a 10-visit card for $15. Membership includes use of the lockers and showers at Dwight Davis Tennis Center.

Tennis memberships are sold separately.

Norman K. Probstein Golf Course

All 27 holes are open as of May 3, 2004.
