The City of St. Louis Recreation Division operates three outdoor and five indoor pools. All of the pools are free. Each pool has its own schedule. Click on the pool name to see its schedule. Outdoor pools are: Indoor pools are: The indoor pools are open all year. The outdoor pools open June 11 and close Sept. 2. All the pools are free. The city's swimming pools are open daily and provide free swimming lessons. Each pool has a different schedule of opening and closing times as well as special swimming events such as water aerobics, senior citizens swim events, lap swimming and certain times that are open to adults only. The pool schedules are posted at the sites. "We open our outdoor pools after the public schools close for the summer," said Evelyn Rice-Peebles, recreation commissioner. "We want everyone --from toddlers to teenagers and adults --to enjoy our swimming pools and the variety of activities we offer for the summer through our recreation centers." All swimmers must bring swim suits, towels and soap. They can wear goggles, masks and swim camps. Swimmers are allowed to wear a t-shirt over regular swim suits at outdoor pools. No flotation devices are allowed.
