Communication
375. Articles in West End Word on development in neighborhood? Mail newsletters to people. Suggest big signs at development sites saying, "ballpark here in 2003," etc.
376. Set up Kiosks for Flyers Bandshell to address public gatherings.
377. Establish a Community center like in Clayton or Richmond Heights.
378. We could use a decent city newspaper. Better yet-another city newspaper.
379. Put left-turn lights all the way down Lindell from Boyle to Grand.
380. Why is CWE being divided into commercial/residential areas for community input and discussion? (Check the boundaries of CWE.)
381. Create web-based communication, newsletters and meetings.
382. An interactive web site would allow anyone who wished to ask questions, make suggestions, etc. to be able to participate. Put signs in libraries and schools, etc. where computers are available so people will know about the plans.
383. Lashly Library has computers available for residents who do not own PC's-if they'd like to comment via website.
384. There was not adequate notice of this meeting, or its purpose. Who is representing the tax-paying residents?
385. Web-based communication-neighborhood to neighborhood. Inter/intra Aldermanic Wards.
386. Ditto.
387. Get CWE Association involved in communication on this issue-flyers from City were very uninformative.
388. Suggest e-mailing updates to interested parties and posting information on a website.
389. Also suggest hanging posters and advertising in weekly West End paper.
390. Make our libraries communication centers with kiosks, bulletin boards, printouts of net communications that impact us.
391. Hurray for the West End Word. Begun by (3 or 4) women-still the best source of neighborhood news, but needs more "hard" news.
392. West End Word no longer delivered to 4200 block of Westminster.
393. Clean 4100 blocks of Olive and Washington Ave. Tear down beat-up houses. Tear down vacant buildings on 4100 block of McPhearson. These areas have a lot of crime due to prostitution and unwanted traffic. Take down burrows in or at the end streets (open up neighborhoods).
394. Re-open blocked streets-give traffic more options.
395. I agree!!!
396. Reduce speed limits to 20 mph and enforce.
397. Representation for Public Housing and Section 8 residents. Some type of MOU or MOA with retailers and residents that have not been represented.
398. An objective group-a new group-needs to be the "shepherd." Perhaps a central location for the planning center, meetings, storage of planning materials, display of maps.
