For at least the past 25 years Americans have consumed more clothes every year than the year before. Today, textiles make up four percent of the contents of U.S. landfills! Reusing or recycling your textiles will save landfill space, as well as energy used in the manufacture of new products. It can also benefit people in need.

The textile reuse and recycling industry diverts more than two million tons of textiles a year. They reclaim your old textiles, sort them into categories for one or more of the following purposes:
