Electronic Media Reuse and Recycling

What You Can Do

diskettesFirst, try to reduce your waste. Surf the web and you'll find companies that can refinish or repair your CDs, DVDs, game disks, or videotapes for less than it would cost to replace them. Second, reuse materials. Borrow music CDs and movie DVDs from your local library. Rent DVDs, videotapes, or games from your local retailer. Trade with family, friends, and neighbors. Check with local camps, charities, community centers, daycare centers, nonprofits, shelters, etc. and ask if they will accept your donation of used CDs, videotapes, games, etc. Some retailers will buy your used CDs or DVDs. Otherwise, options for reusing and/or recycling electronic media include:
