The SLATE Career Center offers two workshops for job seekers.

Career Success Strategies (CSS)

The Career Success Strategies workshop is a weeklong workshop that covers topics including:

  • job search tips and techniques
  • how to sell yourself
  • interviewing
  • career options
  • how to find job openings
  • and much more!

Resume Writing Workshop

The Resume Writing Workshop is a weeklong afternoon workshop that helps individuals prepare an effective, marketable resume, learn a 30-second summary, and how to use different marketing letters to set yourself apart from the competition.

If you are interested in attending a workshop, please speak with your Career Specialist or other SLATE Career Center staff that can enroll you in the next session.

Here are some comments that workshop attendees have expressed to our staff.

I have to say I really enjoyed the Career Success Strategies workshop. It helped me understand what the employer is looking for. Also, it put me ahead the average person.

I learned that it's a lot different writing a resume using key words and phrases; and how to answer trick questions during an interview.

I felt the class to be invaluable. Each day I left totally high on the information I had obtained from the class that particular day. This has been an eye-opening experience.

I really enjoyed the class and the trainers--they were very helpful and encouraging. I like the class enough to take it again and tell others to attend.

Thanks to the SLATE program I feel more confident about myself when it comes to looking for a job. I got more out of this program than job searching--I also found it to be great motivational speaking.

I am leaving this workshop feeling very energetic, professional and creative.
