Overview/Welcome
Mason eMINTS Academy is located at
6031 Southwest Ave. in the southwest section of St. Louis City generally
referred to as the Clifton Heights neighborhood. Clifton is a typical
residential urban neighborhood, located just west of the Hill nieghborhood,
and which was the result of several different subdivisions built from the
1880's through the first two decades of the twentieth century. Mason opened
in 1919, designed by the architect R.M.Milligan and named for a prominent
early St. Louis business man, Isaac M. Mason. It replaced an earlier
neighborhood school, Clifton Heights, which closed the same year that Mason
opened. Mason has adopted eMINTS and Read First as models to follow in
educating children. |

Mission Statement The
mission of Mason is to provide every student with a quality education. In an
effort to achieve this mission, we have the following vision: Mason eMINTS
Academy will be a center of learning where each student will be able to
achieve in a safe, clean environment. The staff will provide the necessary
appropriate learning experiences to promote intellectual stimulation. The
school will be a haven where children can feel free to question things
known; explore the unknown; and demonstrate the level of knowledge attained.
In order to enact our mission and achieve our vision, we believe that all
children can and will learn at Mason. We believe that this can best be
accomplished when the school and family work in concert for the betterment
of the student. We believe that there are many learning styles and we must
adapt our teaching methods to accommodate the students. Finally, we believe
that all the students, parents, and staff should and must be treated with
repsect regardless of age, gender, or ethnicity. |
