A Multitude of Opportunities
In A Safe Haven

Located in the College Hill Neighborhood

St. James Center in St. Louis' North Side has played an important role in the improvement of the College Hill neighborhood. In addition to its regular program, St. James Center is the site of two large, annual community fairs, featuring games, food, and fun.

The Community Center provides a variety of programs for children, youth, parents and neighborhood residents that are aimed at empowering individuals and communities to grow and develop in healthy ways.

Our Thrift Shop is open Mondays from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon.

* Our After School Clubs for children and youth encourage positive growth and development. Tutoring, mentoring, sports, cooking, and creative activities with art, music and drama help youth "be all that they can be"

*Voices United youth choir is a city-wide choir of young people under professional direction, now performing at local churches and concerts.

With a full size gymnasium, St. James Center houses community basketball tournaments and has its own basketball team.

* Our Summer Daycamp and Camp TAMBO, resident camp programs offer children and teens a respite from the challenges of everyday life in the inner city, while also stressing responsibility.

* Camp TAMBO allows campers the opportunity to swim, canoe, hike, cook outdoors, sing around the campfire, and build life-long firendships.

* Summer camp reinforces our programing efforts that offer continuity and trust to the children we work, laugh, and grow with throughout the year.
