 The Central West End (CWE) is a diverse community.  It is one of the few neighborhoods that can truly call itself "cosmopolitan".  The area has a fine balance of homeowners, renters, and businesses. The architecture of CWE is reflective of the rich architectural heritage found in many St. Louis City's communities.  Many active neighborhood organizations are involved in improving the Central West End and building a spirited and concerned community

The Central West End is a broad area to the west of Midtown, along the City's central corridor. It is bounded on the north by Delmar Boulevard, on the south by Highway 40 (I-64), on the west by De Baliviere Avenue and its projection across Forest Park and on the east by Vandeventer Avenue. The land is gently rolling in character with relatively flat inclines except for rather hilly terrain within the park.
