How to Make An Offer for Purchase of Property

1. Find a property:

Visit the on-line For-Sale listing, or
Contact the Real Estate Department for list of properties:
> Fee for Building Only List $1
> Fee for Vacant Lots and Buildings List $20

2. Prior to making an appointment to make an offer, you are urged to inspect the building.

Keys are available for a $10.00 deposit, which we will refund if you return the key within 30 days.

For properties that are boarded up, please contact the Maintenance Department at (314) 622-3400 ext. 388 to make an appointment to view the property.

3. After property is located, set up
an appointment to make an offer to purchase by calling
(314) 622-3400 extension 392.


What You Need to Bring with You to the Appointment:

  >> For Individuals
  >> For Companies or Organizations

4. Application will be processed and presented to the appropriate Board of Commissioners for consideration.

Application has to show the ability to do what is presented on application. (e.g. renovate, new construction, etc.)

Standard prices for buildings and land are figured by Neighborhood (listed under the property address in property list).

  >> The Vacant and Vandalized Residential Building per-unit rate (VVRB) is used to price buildings; and

  >> Land is priced at a square foot value.
