Voices of the Past was a special Juneteenth presentation
about attitudes concerning slavery, past and present. In addition,
the development corporation elected new officers; Adams Center
plans a fundraiser in October; grants made to the Fixx-Up fund; Adams Center
continues activities with reduced staff; Lipton to host
Park East open house; and Liz Robinson now owns her business building.

C4 plans a "blitz" before National Night Out and a reliable
communication network; the Development Corporation adopts a four-point
strategy and will host a "Town Hall Meeting" in September; The Market
at FPSE will open June 21; the STF plans a working committee;
and SNDO's immediate project will be a literacy program.

Items on the health fair, Fixx-up fund, Lighthouse needs, test run for the farmers' market, Brightside flowers and "blitz" thanks, H&EDCorp meeting and plans for historic district on Manchester, and introduction of the new executive director, Irving Blue.

- Irving Blue is the new executive director of the H&EDCorp; Brightside cleanup will be March 29; and the executive committees of the housing corporation and community center begin discussions.

- What about a FPSE community market? To what extent can the Housing and economic Development Corporation and Adams Park Community Center board cooperate or merge?

- Alderman Roddy outlined his expectations for population growth, a youth- employment program, the end of gap financing, and a city manager-like role for the Housing and Economic Development Corporation; residents responded with ballots to rank their priorities for Sustainable Neighborhoods funding efforts; the Ninth District has assigned two problem properties officers; two new restaurants offer great eating; and various organizations reorted on their efforts.
