The purposes of the Association/Council are to improve the quality of
life for all people who live or work in the Forest Park Southeast
Neighborhood by:
- A. promoting a spirit of neighborliness and cooperation by encouraging
people to get to know and to help one another,
- B. providing a forum for democratic discussion and decision-making
about neighborhood issues and projects,
- C. promoting active participation in neighborhood decision-making and
promoting frequent and effective communication within the neighborhood
and between the Community Council and the neighborhood.
- D. providing opportunities for members to work together on
common projects,
- E. promoting health, safety and security for all,
- F. promoting education, challenging activities and opportunities for
growth for all children, and including all youth in the decision-making
process in the Neighborhood,
- G. promoting restoration and rehabilitation of existing housing and
development of new housing,
- H. improving the physical appearance of the neighborhood,
- I. encouraging responsible businesses to locate and expand in the
neighborhood, and
- J. representing the interests and concerns of the neighborhood to the
larger community.
