Rachel Smith, the Assistnat Circuit Attorney directing this program
(formely known as Community Prosecution), will discuss the
purposes and operation of the program and address resident
concerns. (This is the three-lawyer program mentioned at the January
meeting as working with the Security Task Force.)

- Legislative session / MCU update

Metropolitan Congregations United (MCU) is a coalition of 80 churchs
in the St. Louis area. The coalition
in lobbying for
presumptive eligibility for health care for children (spend $11 per
child to provide health insurance), equity in transportation funding
(have the state maintain state routes in the city, just as it does
in every other city), and continuation of tax credits for distressed
communities (which are different than other tax credits absorbed by
developers and which are endangered by legislators' desires for stadiums
here and in Kansas City). MCU representatives went to Jefferson City on
February 19; they will have three more lobbying days in Jefferson City:
April 10; May 1; and May 16. You can get the names and addresses of

- Housing Corporation's annual meeting

The FPSE Housing Corporation's annual community meeting
will be Thursday, February 28, at 6 p.m. at Adams Park Community
Center. A general session will cover current activities. After
that, residents can participate in housing and Main Street (Manchester)
workshops.
