New business
  • The "exact agreement": At the Housing Corpoation's October 7 Board meeting, a HC board member asked Richard Baron (who was asking for a seat on the Housing Corporation board) about the "exact agreement" among the Washington University Medical Center, Urban Strategises, and McCormack Baron. Baron said, in part, Urban Strategies had a "program manager" role and was charged with getting the Mainstreet project started.
  • Fr. Gerry Kleba: Fr. Kleba is the new pastor at St. Cronan. He has experience in providing housing for people living in the inner city and is interested in reaching all the people of the neighborhood. He is invited to share his thoughts with us.

Old Business
  • Housing policy: George Jones has materials on land trusts (see enclosed) and the Council has funds to go ahead with its 501(c)(3) application.
  • Support for Petersen Housing: a letter is still needed in support of the Great Rivers proposal. As of the October 7 Housing Corporation meeting, the position of the HC was uncertain.
  • Super, super security committee: is any further information available?
  • 4500 Manchester: report on the drug and prostitution activity; also, crime information from Rachel Smith, the assistant prosecutor working in the neighborhood.
