The church is at 1075 South Taylor at Arco;
enter at the "Upper Room" door on the Arco side of the building.

Enjoy light snacks and refreshments at and after the meeting.

  This general meeting is jointly sponsored by the Neighborhood Coordination Team and the FPSE Community Council. The purpose is to determine what the neighborhood will tell the Sustainable Neighborhood Development Office (SNDO) about the neighborhood's priority projects.

Agenda

  1. Quick review of what has been accomplished (5 min).
  2. Explanation of the status of ARCHS and its Sustainable Neighborhoods Development Office (SNDO), which is responsible for seeking funds for projects. Also, the need for representation on the city-wide Sustainable Neighborhoods Cabinet (5 min).
  3. Presentation and discussion of preferred economic development, housing, human services, and other projects (SNDO asks that projects be specific and doable) (about 45 min).
    • Generally, the areas of interest developed earlier are:
      • affordable housing, recognizing that the income for nearly half the nei ghborhood households is below the poverty line;
      • early childhood development;
      • employment, especially family-wage jobs and including unemployed youth; and
      • health, including attention to stress and mental health issues.
  4. Determining priorities, cabinet representatives, and setting next steps (about 20 min).

Reminder about the forum on community norms and how those norms affect drug use, violence, and crime: Khatib Waheed and Anna Ginsburg will moderate the forum at Adams Community Center on Saturday, January 11, 2003, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
