CIN to end dial-up services on June 30, 2007PLEASE NOTE: The email account associated with the dial-up account continues to be functional and you can access it via webmail at http://webmail.missouri.org/ - New instruction on configuring Outlook and Outlook Express E-mail Date: 4/16/07 Dear CIN dial-up users! This note is to inform you of upcoming changes to the City of St. Louis Community Information Network (CIN) dial-up services For over a decade the CIN has provided no-cost dial-up accounts to many organizations in the City of St. Louis. Due to a consolidation effort with the City of St. Louis and changes with MOREnet, we will terminate dial-up service on June 30, 2007. Users who rely on the CIN dial-up as their primary access to the internet will need to secure a different internet service provider. Fortunately, dial-up services have become much more affordable and widely available. We are confident you can secure a private provider that can meet your needs. NetZero continues to provide a free and low-cost dial-up service (information available at http://www.netzero.net/). We are pleased to have been able to provide no-cost dial-up services to the City of St. Louis Community for over a decade. Where many communities saw the end of their Community Network much earlier, we were able to meet and exceed our decade-long commitment from 1995 to 2005. If you have any questions or concerns please contact Jessica Cook in our CIN department at 314-622-3400 x279. Sincerely, Sonya Pelli Manager Internet Services and Community Information Network |
